Sustainable Agriculture
Farming that renews the land.
We bridge ancestral heritage with ecological innovation, fostering a landscape where Jharkhand's rural villages flourish. KSRA is helping farming families move from chemical, single-crop farming to living soils, saved seeds and mixed fields — so the land keeps giving, season after season, for the next generation.

"Feed the soil, and the soil will feed us."
WHY IT MATTERS
Decades of chemical farming have drained Jharkhand's soils and pushed families deeper into debt. Sustainable agriculture rebuilds the soil, the seed and the household — all at once.
OUR PRACTICES
Eight practices, one healthy farm.
A whole-farm approach — soil, water, seed, crop, tree and community — taught field by field, farmer to farmer.
Soil health & composting
Vermicompost, farmyard manure and cover crops rebuild organic matter — turning tired, chemical-fed soils back into living soil.
Organic pest management
Neem, jeevamrit and bio-pesticides replace synthetic sprays, protecting pollinators, water sources and family health.
Water-wise farming
Ridge-and-furrow beds, mulching, farm ponds and drip lines — every drop of monsoon rain is caught, held and used twice.
Traditional & millet crops
We revive drought-hardy millets, pulses and indigenous paddy varieties suited to Jharkhand's soils and rainfall.
Heading 1
Seed sovereignty
Community seed banks help farmers save, share and grow their own varieties — no dependence on packaged seed every season.
Mixed cropping & rotation
Legumes, cereals and vegetables grown together fix nitrogen, break pest cycles and give a family food across the year.
Agroforestry & orchards
Mango, drumstick, custard apple and bamboo lines around fields add shade, fodder, fruit and long-term income.
Farmer field schools
Season-long, learning-by-doing schools where farmers train other farmers in their own dialect, on their own fields.

HOW WE WORK
Four steps, repeated field after field.
Livelihoods aren't built in a season. We stay with a village long enough to see a seedling become an orchard and a trainee become a trainer.
Farmers and women learn sustainable techniques — millets, horticulture, poultry, lac and solar — in the field, in their own language.
We supply seeds, saplings, chicks and solar kits, and support families through the first fragile seasons of a new enterprise.
We connect households to fair buyers, FPOs, MGNREGA, the Aam Baagwani Yojana and the Millet & Bamboo Missions.
Women's collectives and farmer groups take charge — so the programme belongs to the village, not to us.

Support a farm. Restore an acre.
Every contribution fuels a regenerative legacy in our soil and provides vital independence for rural families through climate-smart farming and indigenous seed preservation.
